Abstract Art

Detach yourself from reality with abstract wall art that refrains from depicting a visual reality in favour of gestural marks, shapes, colours and forms. From the beautifully bright, to darker tones, our collection of abstract works demonstrates how our artists give life to their work and instil them with energy and character.

From the beautifully bright, to darker tones, our collection of abstract works demonstrates how our artists give life to their work and instil them with energy and character.

Abstract art has been a fundamental part of modern art since the early 1900s when the pioneers of the art form shunned the need for realism and turned instead to the examination of visual perception and the mechanics of painting. They focused on emotion, movement, light, space, and colour, and the abstract movement continues to produce artists working with innovative and unique concepts. Abstract art refrains from depicting life in a realist manner, instead simplifying or schematising landscapes, figures and objects. It is a true form of expression and encompasses shapes, colour, lines, technique, and even the medium used to create the art itself. Through abstraction, artists can convey their own thoughts and experiences whilst also providing a gateway away from reality.

Abstract pieces prioritise sensation and intention over the literal depiction of subjects, and so can be interpreted in a multitude of ways by the viewer. Our abstract collection ranges from intricate collages to bold, textural and gestural pieces, intersecting geometric shapes and colourful splashes of paint, and despite their stylistic differences, they all pack a visual punch.
