Tim Fowler's semi-abstract paintings are inspired by the migratory plants that accompany his heritage. From West Africa to the UK via the Caribbean, Tim’s plant paintings fill his oversized canvases, overwhelming the viewer with striking compositions. Exploring the colour field within his art, Tim’s works are vivid yet balanced. Tim uses a variety of media within his work, combining oil, acrylic, spray, enamel and graffiti inks.
We sat down with Tim in his new Leicester studio to get an insider’s look into his artistic space, and to explore why he finds freedom in the art of painting.
