From a limited edition of just 25, Tintin Stripe I depicts Tintin, one of the most popular European comic characters of the 20th century. Created in Carl Stimpson’s signature style, it is a hand pulled two-layered screenprint on smooth fine art paper and has been signed and numbered by the artist.
I have always been more interested in past art trends and techniques. I’m probably about fifty years behind at this point.

Our Notes
In Tintin Stripe I, Carl Stimpson provides a contemporary twist to the iconic cartoon character Tintin. Using the same 'ligne claire' drawing style as the original cartoonist, Carl produces a striking image that is sure to attract the viewer’s attention and conjure up nostalgic memories of childhood cartoons.
We love how this artwork features Carl’s signature slash of colour, which disrupts the image and obscures Tintin's face. The pared-back nature of this artwork, coupled with its striking use of colour, makes it the ideal conversation starter, while its smaller size makes it the perfect addition to a gallery wall.

We love how Carl takes nostalgic imagery and gives it a contemporary twist. Taking inspiration from the iconic imagery of the 20th century, Carl leaves his own Pop Art-inspired mark on these well loved characters. From Tintin to Daffy Duck and Archie Comics, Carl gives new life to these vintage comic book characters. We admire how Carl uses bold accents of colour in his artworks to draw in the eye. This is a coherent motif that is present in Carl's large catalogue of artworks. Stimpson continues to feature in solo and group exhibitions across the UK. However you can also view his work around the streets of London and sometimes further afield.
