From a limited edition of 50, 'My Baby - Mint' is one of a series of four pieces inspired by different angles of a banana plant. The group of works represents a continuation of Tim Fowler's exploration and reinterpretation of plantation crops. It is a giclée print on premium Fabriano Artistico 300gsm 100% cotton rag paper that has been beautifully hand-finished, signed and numbered by the artist.
Over the years, I have developed more of a focused palette because I know what colours I like to put together. If you see a bright pink plant then you know it’s a Tim Fowler artwork.

Tim Fowler is a botanical artist whose semi-abstract paintings are inspired by the migratory plants that accompany his own heritage. Tim has developed a striking and focused colour palette over the years, through continuous experimentation with opacity, texture combinations, finishes and light. This means that the intense and vivid hues in his compositions are also balanced and calming – and the My Baby range (named because the plant it depicts was grown by Tim from a small cutting) is no exception.
We love Tim's approach to printmaking: "All of my prints are hand-finished – for me, colour is the main point and focus, so I’ll touch up certain sections with acrylic paint, for example. That makes each print original and unique.”

Over the many years of Tim’s career, this organic relationship with paint and colour has developed and shines through as he experiments with opacity, texture combinations, finishes and light. Tim uses a variety of mediums within his work combining oil, acrylic, spray, enamel and graffiti inks. Tim subverts traditional and contemporary methods of applying these mediums and uses aperture caps and marker paint mops to create marks, strokes, drips, scrapes and smears across the canvas. After graduating in 2007 with a degree in Contemporary Fine Art, Tim experimented with painting architectural structures before turning to the striking portraiture work he is celebrated for today. Tim has been exhibiting his work for over a decade and has participated in shows worldwide including countries such as the United States, Germany and Ibiza, not to mention a variety of solo shows in his home country. We’ve been working with Tim Fowler since 2018.
We love how Tim’s unmistakeable colour palette of vivid pinks, blues and greens underscore his unique style and give life to the canvas. His paintings eschew literal and figural representation and instead celebrate the freedom and joy of creation. His unconventional methods of application such as smearing and dripping add a distinct element of dynamism to his work, and this movement gives life to his subject matter. His daring colour palette only adds to the beauty of his artworks.
