'A Vocabulary of Ornaments' is a giclŽe print by Benjamin Thomas Taylor. From a limited edition of 25, this print is signed and numbered by the artist.

ÔA Vocabulary of OrnamentsÕ is the third in a series of images
alongside ÔSearching for the Regina hotelÕ and ÔLittle GardenÕ,
influenced by Henri Matisse and his pursuit of the possibilities
between art, nature, colour and form.

Depicting a desert garden abundant with possibility, reaching back
against a sunset sky, the colourful Barrel Cactus, Opuntia and
flowering Yuccas fill the print, while the title alludes to organic
riches, each specimen a splendid ornament in natureÕs alluring world.

About The Artist - Benjamin Thomas Taylor

London based artist Benjamin Thomas Taylor is known for his bright, Pop Art inspired landscapes. Having grown up near Snowdonia, Taylor’s art explores a unique blend of the urban and the rural, which manifests itself through an interconnection of type and image: a recurring motif in his work sees large lettering superimposed over exotic landscapes.

Fuelled by a sense of joy, his detailed paintings and prints open up hyperreal spaces, crossing from reality into a parallel world of limitless possibility, full of colour and creation. Taylor studied painting at the University of Brighton and has since gone on to exhibit at a number of London galleries.
