A Vocabulary of Ornaments

'A Vocabulary of Ornaments' is the third in a series of images
alongside 'Searching for the Regina hotel' and 'Little Garden',
influenced by Henri Matisse and his pursuit of the possibilities
between art, nature, colour and form.

Depicting a desert garden abundant with possibility, reaching back
against a sunset sky, the colourful Barrel Cactus, Opuntia and
flowering Yuccas fill the print, while the title alludes to organic
riches, each specimen a splendid ornament in nature's alluring world.

ARTIST STORY

Benjamin lives and works in London, UK. We love his bright, joyful paintings that capture landscapes, blending elements of the rural with the urban. A familiar style within his artwork is large lettering superimposed over exotic landscapes.

Benjamin studied painting at the University of Brighton. He has exhibited in galleries in the UK and internationally. We’ve been working with Benjamin Thomas Taylor since 2017.
