Wish You Were Here - Gold Foil Edition is a playful artwork that combines typography with a bold landscape scene. Through the use of muted pastel colours, the artist, Benjamin Thomas Taylor, evokes the serenity of a tropical beach sunset and creates an artwork that would be a calming addition to any room.
We love the way Benjamin has combined his bold imagery with playful ‘painting by numbers’ outlines on the letters of the text. This detail adds to the nostalgia of the piece, bringing back memories of past holidays and childhood summers for the viewer. These outlines also add an amusing tongue-in-cheek commentary on the role of the artist and act as a conversation starter on the topic of the genius creator.
