The Golden Countessa, is a humorous and playful work by artist Little Fish Design. It is part of a larger series in which the artist combines the portraits of old masters like Goya, Velázquez, and Fragonard with modern packaging and wrappers. In this artwork the dress of the female model has been replaced by the iconic label of Lyle’s Golden Syrup, which complements the golden colour of her shawl.
We love how Little Fish Design seamlessly blurs his imagery together, blending old and new in a way that creates a surreal and disconcerting final piece. This artwork would be the perfect statement piece and could be used to add humour and joy to a dull space.
