ÔWhen the MusicÕs Over & Cosmic FlotsamÕ is a 7 Colour Silkscreen Print by contemporary artist Eelus. From a limited edition of 10, the print is signed and numbered by the artist.

Contemporary street artist Eelus is known for his vivid prints and murals, which delicately balance light and dark, to draw out the beauty in the banal. From pop culture to portraiture, Eelus explores the vibrancy of urban life through his bold, graphic aesthetic, bringing colour and character to grey city streets in vast, expressive murals.

ÕWhen the MusicÕs Over & Cosmic FlotsamÕ features two, themed images, placed side by side to create a semblance of a story. In the first, two girls in 1950s gear stand at the centre, their stencilled figures in monochrome against a speckled grey background. All around them, shards of colour float: the cosmic flotsam of the printÕs title. In the second, a monochrome man stands, broom in hand, surrounded by neat piles of the fragments: the music is over and the debris is being swept away. Offsetting the monochrome subjects against the bright shards, Eelus creates a beautiful interplay of colour and shade, for a haunting and ethereal print.

About The Artist - Eelus

Balancing the opposing forces of the humorous and macabre, vivid color and stark monochrome, Eelus’ work brings the beautiful and sometimes caustic realities of the world together.

It all started when he was a kid, drawing posters of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to sell in the schoolyard so he could buy chocolate. Some years later, he’d sold enough posters and art prints to leave his day job behind, turning a lifelong hobby into a full-time profession.

Since then, he’s exhibited his art works worldwide alongside some of the biggest names in the urban art scene, with the majority of his releases selling out incredibly fast.
