Float mounting is used to give the appearance that an artwork is floating within the frame. In "box" frames the artwork is raised from the mount to cast a shadow beneath itself. We highly recommend using a float mount when framing artwork with deckled (hand-torn) edges to display the entirety of the print.
Window mounts are carefully laid on top of your print and create a window through which the artwork can be seen. This is a classic style that creates clean edges, allowing your stunning artwork to stand out without any distractions. We use high-quality archival mount-boards when framing.
For prints with a straight cut edge, or for those with a margin, you won’t always want a space between the paper and the frame. For a smoother and more elevated framing result we suggest choosing this option, as trapped mounts the print flush to the edge of the frame.
UV glass provides protection against damage and fading by blocking harmful UV light waves.
ClearColour glass offers the ultimate in viewing clarity – the high-quality anti-reflective coating that is applied on both sides means you see your artwork’s true colours. In some light conditions thus glass is, effectively, invisible, making it an excellent choice for framing darker prints and lenticulars.
ClearColour UV glass offers a unique combination of UV protection and anti-reflective coating. This means that this glass protects your picture from the sun’s harmful rays, without impacting on the colours or clarity of the image it is protecting.
High-grade cast acrylic 3mm is the only alternative to glass that we would recommend. Gallery-grade acrylic is hard-wearing and crystal clear, so it doesn’t affect the overall impact made by your chosen artwork
