‘The Prodigy - Rave Heroes’ is a set of 3 art figures by highly sought after artist RYCA. Each sculpture is made from resin and chrome and the set is from limited edition of 250 and has been signed by the artist and band members Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim.

The boxes feature backdrop artwork from the band’s live shows and are silkscreened and hand printed for each spot colour. Each box is labelled ‘NOT A TOY’ and ‘AGES 33+’.

RYCA is well known for his series of hip hop legends including figures of biggie, 2pac and eazy-e which led him to approach the band to make his ‘rave heroes’ collection. The partnership has resulted in the creation of a strictly limited, hand sculpted set of chrome-plated 3.75” scale art figures featuring band members Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim.

On teaming up with Prodigy RYCA said “The Prodigy have been the soundtrack in my life since I was playing with action figures, I'm now immortalising my rave heroes as art toys …”.

The work of RYCA has developed something of a reputation in the contemporary art world: the pop-meets-urban style has established RYCA as a leading figure in the evolving street scene and a name to watch. His work frequently incorporates familiar figures from contemporary culture, transplanting them into other pop-culture contexts to create an aesthetic of skewed nostalgia which is always playful, a little ironic and oh-so spirited.

About The Artist - RYCA

Ryan Callanan (a.k.a RYCA) has long since been one of our most sought after artists at artrepublic. RYCA places much importance on cross referencing within his art work, combining street art and pop art cultures together in these limited edition art prints.

RYCA's work uses star wars iconography to put an ironic spin on nostalgia as high art, and uses visual equations that create jokes with political and pop references, making his art prints refreshingly comic and accessible.
