ARTIST STORY

Cyril Power

Cyril Power (1872-1951) was a British artist best known for his linocut prints, although he also painted and etched also. He was particularly passionate about where he lived - London - and the London Underground, a subject he captured by mimicking its speed, movement, and dynamism through his artwork. Power’s artwork is held in collections around the world in the British Museum, the National Gallery of Australia, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
