The Dazzle Alphabet Box Set by Peter Blake is a box set of 27 signed limited edition silkscreen prints with gold and silver metallic ink and glazes by Pop Art icon Peter Blake.

In this beautiful boxed portfolio set all the prints will have matching numbers and are from an edition of 100. Only 25 box sets are available. All 26 letters of the alphabet are represented as well as a print that combines I and J to allow you to hang the full alphabet together as a square.

The Dazzle designs reflect motifs in Peter Blake’s early work as well as more recent works including Dazzle Disc and the amazing Liverpool Ferry he re-designed in 2015 for the Liverpool Biennial.

The Dazzle designs are inspired by the razzle dazzle or dazzle painting used on ships in WWI and WW2. Unlike other forms of camouflage, dazzle camouflage works not by concealing but by baffling the eye, making it difficult to estimate a target’s range, speed and direction. Realised in monochrome and colour, each ship’s dazzle pattern was unique in order to avoid making classes of ships instantly recognisable to enemy U-boats and aircraft.

Also available as 27 individual prints

About The Artist - Peter Blake

Sir Peter Blake is one of the leading figures in the art world, often referred to as the Godfather of British Pop Art. Best known for the iconic album cover he produced for the Beatles 'Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band', Blake's work is inspired by his love affair with icons and the ephemera of popular culture.

He is continuing to produce a prolific output of work from his studio in west London maintaining his reputation and popularity with every artistic piece he creates. Peter Blake was born in 1932 in Dartford, Kent. He studied at Gravesend School of Art before earning a place at the prestigious Royal College of Art London in 1956. His love of art flourished as he built up a respectable portfolio of work through extensive travels across Europe and beyond.
