Juxtaposing life and death, Richard’s art invites the viewer to come in closer and explore his highly-detailed compositions, in which hope and despair go hand in hand. Richard attended art college where he was discouraged from continuing to use his small fine line figures by his teachers. Deciding to ignore this advice, Richard continued to create his figures, also known as ‘Champs’, and they are now a celebrated part of Richard’s artwork. We’ve been working with Richard Berner since 2014.
We love the care and detail Richard puts into his base ink drawings. The addition of other elements such as colour and texture only enhance the level of detail to be found in his artwork. Richard cleverly combines graffiti, collage and typography to create artworks that explode with colour and charisma.
