NOMAD I (Film Rebate), New York is a C-type photography print by Richard Heeps. From an edition of 25, this print is signed and numbered by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Colour is very important in the work and it is probably my signature, I use it to seduce the audience, to draw them in. I cross over between classical, conceptual and pop art but the use of colour ties them all to me.

Richard Heeps is a British-born contemporary photographer based in Cambridge. His distinct saturated style shuns the need for digital manipulation and pushes the boundaries of photography. Richard Heeps' art is a true love letter to the art of photography and the carefree American lifestyle.
Heeps' photographs feature a seductive colour palette and relaxed subject matter. Heeps speaks of his fascination with the United States: “the speed, the lifestyle and technicolour is reflected in my imagery. ‘American’ colour is a major aspect in my work, it drives my equipment and material choices.” We love how Heeps is determined to create a portfolio of art that connects with his contemporary audience whilst also embracing the traditional methods of lens-based photography. Heeps attended Cambridge University and gained an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, before going on to complete two further qualifications in Photography and Film. Before his formal education, Heeps had a longstanding interest in art, painting and photography, having first shown work in exhibitions from the age of ten. The artist’s fascination with New York during his youth was the starting point of his fixation on everything Americana, a fascination only emphasised by his visits to the country later in life. Heeps has been exhibiting his work since the 1980s, and he has gone from strength to strength ever since, showing internationally at museums and public galleries such as Milan’s Affordable Art Fair, The Photographer's Gallery in London, and the Royal Academy of Art’s Summer Exhibition. We’ve been working with Richard Heeps since 2017.

What is a limited edition?
So you’ve found your perfect limited edition artwork, but what does this actually mean? Limited editions are original artworks that an artist creates in a particular print medium, such as a giclée print, screen print or photograph. Our limited edition artworks are specifically created by our talented artists with a maximum edition number in mind. The term ‘limited edition’ refers to the total number of artworks that are available for that particular piece. The edition size can vary widely between artworks, however most of the time our artists create editions in small numbers ranging from 10 to a few hundred.
