ÔRevolverÕ is an original Mixed Media on Canvas by contemporary artist VeeBee. The piece is signed by the artist.

Contemporary artist VeeBee is something of a mystery: keeping her identity concealed, VeeBee lets her work talk for itself, distinct from the Ôcult of the artistÕ complex that informs so much in the world of modern art. Engimatic though she may be, there is no puzzle as far as her work is concerned. Her mixed media pieces, which use collage and bricolage techniques, as well as digital forms and painstakingly hand applied detailing, are bold, striking and cutting edge.

ÔRevolverÕ depicts the detailed image of a black revolver, embossed with the ancient motif of three, conjoined hares. VeeBee has offset the masculinity of the metal object with a beautifully feminised background, using a stencilled pattern of tiny, gold stars, shot through with sparkling CZ diamonds and shimmering gold glitter. Brilliantly executed ÔRevolverÕ is a bold, dynamic, and conceptually thought-provoking work of contemporary art.

About The Artist - VeeBee

We’ve been working with VeeBee since 2017.

VeeBee is a UK-based contemporary artist who works primarily in collage and mixed-media. The artist began painting at a very young age and admits ‘it was always very clear that I didn’t enjoy doing anything as much as I enjoyed making art’.  VeeBee’s approach to art is unconventional, using spray paint on glass surfaces and inventing other techniques to suit different projects. We love the unpredictable compositions and the complexity of the design through which each story is told.

In the artist’s words: “I want you to have my work on your wall, not based on who I am, where I have studied or where I have exhibited my work. I don’t want to get between ‘you’ and the artwork.” VeeBee says her work draws on a broad range of inspirations, including the vibrancy and emotive power of colour and materials of Yayoi Kusama.

The artist lives and works in Brighton, from where their gallery ‘VeeBee Art’ is run. It is no surprise to us that their work is highly sought after; the celebrity inspired editions in particular which are very well received. VeeBee’s true identity has been kept hidden, choosing to remain in the shadows to enable the work to be viewed as a separate entity from them as a person. VeeBee has been involved in exhibitions such as ‘The Other Art Fair’ and is exclusively exhibited in the UK.
