Sheridan Power is a limited edition giclée screenprint by Maria Evans. From an edition of 75, this print is signed and numbered by the artist.

Meet the Sheridan Powers, the Hollywood couple everyone is dying to know! With their fast cars, pampered pooches, and dazzling diamonds, the pair pack a flamboyant punch in classic Rivans panache. But this is more than just a story of boy meets girl; it’s a tale of masculine meets feminine, subverting the norm and celebrating gender in all its gorgeous fluidity. On the left, starlet Ann Sheridan holds the keys and the power, symbolised in speedy motorbikes, adventurous cowboys, and the White House itself. Over on the right, the handsome Tyrone Power is in touch with his feminine side, as pink flowers and diamond wrist-watches adorn his luscious headdress. Linking the two figures is London Bridge – a reminder that gender identity is something to be crossed and connected. Boy meets girl after all, but the rules of the game have changed: it’s Adams turn to do the hoovering, Eve’s taking the Ferrari for a spin.

About The Artist - Maria Rivans

Maria lives and works in Brighton, UK, and is a contemporary artist best known for her bright and eclectic collages. Her scrapbook-style aesthetic is created by appropriating vintage ephemera and combining it with vivid, and often humorous, imagery.

Maria adopts a fresh approach to collage by maintaining dialogue with cultures and imagery of the past and using the style to reflect the complex world we live in. We love the precision the artist applies to collating and assembling her compositions in order to find the perfect imagery to piece together each surreal artwork.

Maria studied 3D design at the University of Brighton. She has exhibited in both solo and group shows across the UK and Europe, as well as Hong Kong, Korea, and New York. Her artwork has been featured in The Times newspaper and in 2018 one of her artworks was selected for the Royal Academy’s 250th Summer Exhibition.

We’ve been working with Maria Rivans since 2010.
