Moruzzi is a contemporary artist, first established in 2016 as a London-based design agency for menswear fashion. Today, Moruzzi has expanded his practice into a limited edition stencil aesthetic that plays with the cult of the logo in contemporary culture
For ‘Lazy Tokyo Cat’, Moruzzi has reimagined classic cartoon cat Garfield into a series of orange figures. The 2 symbols represent "Happiness" and "Contentment" in Kanji Japanese. They have been slightly tweaked to allow for the character to be seen. The result is compelling: oh-so-simple yet powerfully arresting, this is street-to-canvas at it's very best.
Moruzzi is a contemporary street artist, first established in 2015. Signifying traditional work in the asphalt trade, the Italian surname places him in a lineage of urban craftsmen - Moruzzi is the street artist of today.
Initiated as a London-based design agency for menswear fashion, Moruzzi expanded his practice to include limited edition stencil art. His aesthetic plays with the cult of the logo in contemporary culture, often pairing one familiar icon with another to the point of cartoonish over-familiarisation.
