HAUS OF LUCY, FORMERLY LUCY BRYANT
Fallen Angel is a is a sculpture made from china ornament, ceramic paint, polymer clay and photographic paper by Haus of Lucy. This piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
"Beel Ze Bub was the most scary member of Norwegian Black Metal combo 'Fallen Angel'. Once he even bit the head off a baby on stage (OK. It was a jelly baby) and he played the lute like a demon. But Beel had a dark secret, a secret so dark he planned to take it to his grave. Despite having tried to suppress his feelings for years, he was a huge Cliff Richard fan. His absolute favourite tracks were 'Devil Woman (fitting!) and 'Summer Holiday'. He had a special room to house his memorabilia and he bought the official Cliff Richard calendar every year, as well as all the unofficial ones too! Luckily, without his corpse paint, he was completely unrecognisable so Beel had been able to see Cliff in concert over 200 times! Result!"

A true sense of discord is evident in her prints, but the unexpected anachronisms that deftly find their way into her compositions result in artwork that is saturated in humour. We love the refreshingly comic disruption of the ordinary, juxtaposing the past with the present, making us question if the woman in that portrait really is wearing Beats headphones. Lucy graduated from the University of Derby where she was formally trained in Fine Art, before taking the art world by storm. Lucy worked as a graphic designer for magazines such as Closer and Heat after graduating, before focusing on her art career in 2017 after feeling creatively stifled. Lucy has exhibited in Brighton at the Fringe Festival, in the Paxton Glew gallery and at the London Craft Week. In 2018, Lucy was invited to participate in Bob Osbourne and Carrie Reichardt’s Cash is King project that later was published as a book and exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery. We’ve been working with Lucy since 2017.
