The work of contemporary artist Joe Webb sees a return to ‘analogue methods’ in beautifully retro style. Opting for painstakingly crafted collage techniques, Webb’s work is reminiscent of early Paolozzi, layering together found images and photographs from vintage magazines, to create surreal and often esoteric prints.
‘On a Platter’ depicts a 1950s illustration of the earth, specks of blue stardust filling the endless, inky-black space around it. Yet, rather than hang the terrestrial orb in the night sky, Webb has placed it onto a sliver platter, held aloft by an anonymous hand. Brilliantly imaginative and beautifully executed, Webb’s piece is a gem of contemporary Pop printing.
Framed in a polished jet black 25mm deep frame.

Joe Webb (1976) creates hand made collages with a message. Webb reimagines found imagery using simple and concise edits to make thought provoking artworks. He tackles issues such as the environment, war, inequality - and questions our place in the universe asking us to become more aware, conscious and content.
Webb's work has become an online sensation with hundreds of thousands of people sharing his images on the internet. As well as going viral in the virtual world, Joe has exhibited and sold work internationally. His original collages and prints can be found in the Saatchi Gallery, 45 Park Lane and in the collections of Coldplay, Eric Cantona, The Madden Brothers and Janelle Monae. He supports, with artwork donations, charities such as The Eden Project, Peace One Day, Heart Research UK and the The Big Issue.
