'For the Love of Pop - Blue' featured in 'H's solo exhibition, 'Pop Goes the Easel', which staged a collision between two of the twentieth century's most game-changing visual artists: Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst. Here, Hirst's iconic, diamond-encrusted human skull (aptly named, 'For the Love of God') sports the wild and wayward, ice-blonde crop of Warhol's memorable, 1986 self portrait. Tracing the lineage of postmodernism - from the undisputed king of the Pop Art movement, to the high priest of the 1990s YBAs - 'H' blazes the trail for an art of intelligent irony in our contemporary moment.

From the Artist

Having made the photographic image, I wanted to explore the Warhol side of the idea. So I created this body of screenprints reflecting his own Self Portrait series. These replicate the colours Warhol used in his series of 6.
