'Self Care Bear' - Midnight (Black) is a giclée print with silkscreen and varnish by the contemporary artist Euan Roberts. This print is from a limited edition of size of 5 and is both signed and numbered by the artist.
Euan says:
"2020 has been full on. I don’t need to go into details, we’ve all been living through it and doing the best we can. I don’t know where bear came from but I’m glad that bear is in my life. Bear serves as a simplified reminded to try and live in the present moment. Like a shamanic guru of complete serenity, presence, knowing, kindness and peace. Be reminds us to take care of ourselves and that its ok to slow down and savour life.
It states that if an aeroplane gets into difficulties and the air in the cabin is compromised you put your own oxygen mask on before helping others. You can’t pour from an empty cup. That sort of sentiment is prevalent in ‘Self Care Bear’. We have a responsibility to take care of ourselves, love and show compassion inwards in order to reflect that onto others and create a better world to live in.
In The Streets latest album there is a line that says “loving yourself is true wealth”. Basically my latest print “Self Care Bear” is all about that."
Euan Roberts is a Hastings-based artist whose work focuses on imparting a feeling of optimism, hope or joy onto the viewer. His art is often upbeat in terms of colour, subject matter and composition, but can carry equally unsettling messages.
He is regarded as one of the most exciting young artists to emerge from the ‘Instagram’ generation, having had two sold out solo exhibitions in London and Brighton, alongside numerous sold out limited edition prints.
