In the 1980s, McEvoy worked with the Godfather of Silkscreen printing, Andy Warhol. This inspirational relationship sparked McEvoy’s passion for the tactile, screen printing process, which continues to inform his practice today. His work is driven by icons of the twentieth century and his vibrant prints reflect the Pop Art scene from which they have emerged while carving out new aesthetic directions for contemporary printmaking. McEvoy has received numerous D&AD and NYADC awards, as well as the Direct Marketing Award in 2000. His work was shown at the Victoria & Albert Museum, as part of their ‘Rewind – 40 years of the best UK Advertising & Design’ exhibition in 2002. Recent projects have included commissions for BT and Conde Nast, as well as prize-winning advertising pieces for Lever, Philips and Nikon.
