‘Dancing Through the Apocalypse’ is painting on canvas by contemporary artist Euan Roberts. From a limited edition of 3, the piece is signed by the artist.

Euan Roberts is a London based artist whose work explores the unspectacular using bright, childlike colours in thick acrylic paint. His syncopated compositions explore the everyday and the ignored to reflect the unrefined nature of humanity that contemporary culture seeks to repress.

’Dancing Through the Apocalypse’ forms part of Roberts’s recent body of work, which celebrates nature through a series of simple and organic scenes. Roberts has spilt the canvas in two, painting the bottom half jet black, and the top textured red, to depict a burning sky and charred desert. In the centre of the dystopian landscape, two green cactuses stand side by side, their branches linked as if hand in hand. Roberts characteristically revels in visual naivety, yet his colour and compositional techniques betray his artistic prowess: the electric palette and bold patterns are vivd and eye catching, drawing the viewer towards a moment brilliantly illuminated in print.

About The Artist - Euan Roberts

Euan Roberts is a Hastings-based artist whose work focuses on imparting a feeling of optimism, hope or joy onto the viewer. His art is often upbeat in terms of colour, subject matter and composition, but can carry equally unsettling messages.

He is regarded as one of the most exciting young artists to emerge from the ‘Instagram’ generation, having had two sold out solo exhibitions in London and Brighton, alongside numerous sold out limited edition prints.
