This museum art print is a Pop Art classic printed on fine art paper. Andy Warhol,s iconic cow was first published for his retirement, exhibition at Leo Castelli Gallery, New York, in April 1966. The photographic image was taken from an unidentified book on animal husbandry and the caption in the book read, モA Good Jersey Headヤ. Warhol,s beautiful yellow cow is removed from the landscape and treated as a decorative motif. Against a bold blue background, she instantly and unforgettably pops!

About The Artist - Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol is probably the most famous member of the Pop Art movement. Virtually any image that was in the public domain was a prime target for the Warhol treatment, from superstars such as Marilyn Monroe to everyday objects such as Campbell's Soup Cans. He turned out his works like a manufacturer, going as far as naming his studio 'The Factory'.
