I tend to look at the architectural/landscape body of my work as a reflection of a moment that people can share. I hope for all the places it allows people to have a memento of a special place and time.

Our Notes
Intricately detailed, Fish Pond Life is an exquisite artwork by Clare Halifax. Produced in Clare’s signature style, the artwork is created through fine line work, giving it a delicate and almost whimsical feel. We love how Clare uses imagery from her own life to inspire her artwork, drawing on her youth in the South West and her current life in London to create pieces that feel uniquely personal.
Clare’s early training in textiles can be seen across her artworks as she combines pattern with bold, eye-catching colours. Her eye for detail and her steady hand make this artwork an attractive piece that could be hung alone in a smaller space or added to a larger gallery wall.

Halifax's artworks stem from her true lived experience, from intricate detailing of urban architecture to the luscious green rolling hills of her childhood. Clare uses a fine ink pen to intricately draw layers of her prints, and then utilises a screen to add further detail. We love Clare’s stylised depiction of place and her calming use of colour and line that combine to produce rich and visually appealing compositions. Clare graduated from Loughborough University with a BA Hons in Printed Textile Design in 2000, before going on to receive an MA in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking from the University of West England, Bristol in 2009. Between studying her two degrees, Clare sold her textile work internationally to multiple fashion and interior markets. Her fashion experience influences her delicate pattern choices to this day. Clare has worked with clients such as ‘Coast’ Magazine, Liberty of London, Tate Online, Farrow & Ball, Huxleys Restaurant and the Berkley Group, and her art has been shown at the Affordable Art Fair.

The artist says of her work: “filling in the detail becomes almost meditative, creating patterns within the patterns that make up the final piece.”
