From a limited edition of just 25, Premium Sunflower Safety Matches is an Urban Pop Art piece by Charlie Evaristo-Boyce. It is a hand-pulled screenprint on fine art paper and has been signed and numbered by the artist.
My printmaking process revolves around screen printing. I use the process to make my bright and fun artworks. When I first started making prints a lot of my inspiration came from found images but as my work developed, I started to incorporate photography and more recently illustration.

Inspired by a matchbook that the artist Charlie Evaristo-Boyce found trodden into a dirt path, Premium Sunflower Safety Matches is a celebration of mundanity. Like much of Charlie’s work, it takes inspiration from the artist's travels and focuses on found objects as a way of exploring multi-culturalism in the modern world.
We love how Charlie has managed to retain the vibrant colour of the original matchbox while also reflecting its worn-out appearance through soft and torn edges. The bright clashing colours of this artwork call to mind the work of fauvist artists like Henri Matisse and make the perfect piece to brighten up a blank wall and inject some sunshine into your life.

We love how his work is inspired by his extensive travels, with inspiration from different cultures influencing his prints. The process of creation is a personal journey for Charlie, as he uses his art to find his voice as a person of mixed heritage. Charlie graduated from UCA Farnham with a degree in Fine Art. He has exhibited in group and solo shows across the UK and in Belgium. His artwork has been collected by celebrities and has been featured in multiple interior magazine features. Charlie has also hosted workshops for various clients, including The Royal Academy, Turner Contemporary, Printworks London, Royal Harbor Academy and The Garden Gate Project. We’ve been working with Charlie Evaristo Boyce since 2021.
