Our Notes
In Jackfruit, Cellphone, Wristwatch, Charlie Evaristo-Boyce uses everyday objects to celebrate and explore his Nigerian heritage. Like much of Charlie’s work, it takes inspiration from the artist's travels and focuses on found objects as a way of exploring multi-culturalism in the modern world. Here, Charlie takes inspiration from Afro-futurism and juxtaposes seemingly random objects next to one another, blurring the divide between the past and the present.
We love how Charlie uses a warm colour palette of reds, yellows, and golds to unite this artwork and create a sense of harmony across the image. Charlie's artwork feels like a celebration of our surroundings and offers a playful way to inject some colour and fun into your home.
