The artist says of this series: "Fascinated by the resurgence and success of Pixel art that has taken the NFT scene by storm I was interested in incorporating this simple yet powerful style into a new print series. As a new way of graphic computer processing in the early eighties the simplicity of the lines, colours and images you can create using an 8-bit Pixel approach lends itself extremely well to creating bold and iconic images for a printing medium.
I try not to focus on one specific style but rather a body of work that encapsulates a mixture of comical statements, popular culture and aesthetic works focusing on bold colours and imagery.

Based in Southeast London, Charles Edgar is an artist whose work refrains from focusing on one specific style, instead he creates bold coloured prints that combine comical statements, popular culture and aesthetics. Edgar creates mixes of editions that ironically and comically comment on cultural and social affairs.

Edgar’s first piece ‘IMADEYOUANAUTHENTICPRINTBECAUSEILIVEINHACKNEY’ sparked a move from stencilling and has developed into a comprehensive collection of screen prints that has found its way into galleries around London. With no formal art education, Edgar started printing in a studio in Hackney and now prints out of his home studio in Croydon. We love how Edgar's thoroughly contemporary prints transform familiar symbols and tropes. His original and innovative interpretation of the world around him contributes to witty, humorous, yet stylish artworks.
We love how Charles creates minimalist yet punch artworks that are full of character. Each of his works has their own story to tell. Drawing from popular culture, Charles' art is cheeky yet clever - his familiar motifs make each piece instantly recognisable and relatable. His simple line work and vibrant colour scheme helps to make his artworks stand out from the crowd. Witty and visually stunning, Charles' art is a visual treat.
