Bench Allen is an illustrator and printmaker based in London. Heavily inspired by natural history and the secrets of the ocean, Bench Allen seeks to explore the “wordless narrative” of the sea and the creatures living within it.
The beauty of the natural world is evident in the artist’s illustrations. We love how Bench Allen’s work is tethered to his love for nature, but remains firmly open to personal interpretation. Bench Allen was born and raised in Plymouth, England, and graduated from Plymouth College of Art. The artist’s regular interactions with the coastal environment was a huge source of inspiration for his work. Bench works as a printmaker and his work has been shown in a variety of group exhibitions such as Floral Pleasure and Notice the Small Things, both held by Jealous Gallery in London.
