Sara is a contemporary artist renowned for her eye-catching paintings of lips that capture the sensual and seductive power of the mouth. Sara’s glamorous and bold painted lips imitate the slick and flawless images that are used in advertising, questioning societal standards of beauty and the notion of femininity.
Sara is a contemporary artist renowned for her eye-catching paintings of lips that capture the sensual and seductive power of the mouth. Sara’s glamorous and bold painted lips imitate the slick and flawless images that are used in advertising, questioning societal standards of beauty and the notion of femininity.
We love how Sara takes such care to create her irresistible images, first painting and photographing her model’s lips, photographing them, and then using these shots as inspiration for her work. Sara uses the knowledge gained from working in media to emulate the glossy images often found on the pages of magazines. In turn, she exposes the toxicity of perfectionism that is rife in the commercial sphere. After completing a degree in mathematics, Sara felt disconnected to her artistic side and subsequently moved to Barcelona where she completed a course in graphic design. Back in the UK, Sara worked in media as an art director and designer for many years. Her passion for shoe customisation led Sara to study a footwear Diploma at the London College of Fashion, and she has since held the position of shoe designer for brands such as Paul Smith and Lacoste, and consulted for a plethora of other brands. Sara’s work has been shown at Saatchi, the London Original Print Fair at the Royal Academy of Art, and SCOPE Miami. She is also the first British artist in over 70 years to have a work of art accepted into the Vatican collection. We’ve been working with Sara Pope since 2010.

How long will it take for my artwork to arrive?
We aim to dispatch unframed artworks within 10 working days of receiving your order. Postage within the UK takes around 1-3 working days. Custom framed items are usually dispatched within 21 working days of receiving your order. For more information, see our delivery page.
What is your returns policy?
Once you receive your artwork, you have 14 days to return it and get a full refund if you're not happy. If you would like to return an artwork, please contact us first at support@artrepublic.com. It is your responsibility to cover the return postage. Our returns' policy excludes items that are hand-made to order, such as artwork that has been framed, purchased as part of a timed release, or commissioned. These can only be returned if they are faulty.
How much does delivery cost?
UK delivery is free on orders over £100. Framed artworks cost £15 and we can only ship these within the UK. We also offer pick up from our studio. Worldwide delivery is dependent on location. For more information on delivery costs, head to our delivery page.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro. We also accept payment via PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay and Klarna. We also offer financing through Own Art. Payment will be taken as soon as your order has been placed.
Can I get my artwork framed?
Yes! We work with a network of expert framers, and you can add a selection of frames to an artwork on the artwork page. Please see our framing page for more details, as well as information on additional styles that we can offer.
