Our Notes
Based on the iconic Sun Maid raisin boxes, Everything Happens... Again sees Antony ‘H’ Haylock offer a humorous perspective on contemporary life and draws our attention to the mundane objects that surround us. The artist's background in graphic art can be seen in his careful handling of the artwork's typography, while his creativity and artistic skill are apparent in his striking use of colour and careful handling of paint.
H’s use of recognisable imagery makes this artwork a great conversation starter, and we love how the artist brings the legacy of Andy Warhol into the twenty-first century. The bright colours of this piece and its subject matter make this the ideal artwork for the domestic space, perhaps as a stand-alone addition to a kitchen or dining room or as part of a larger gallery wall.

Of his methods, he has said, “Once I have an idea, the medium is secondary, I just set to work with what suits the end result I’m after.” Inspired by iconic objects, we love the way each artwork is a true conversation between the paint and canvas, paired together to create lifelike artworks that are often surprising and humorous. Antony studied graphics at college and went on to partner with Pez before becoming a prominent artist of the 1980s rave scene. He was later commissioned for murals and large-scale paintings before working in the television world at BBC and Pinewood Studios. He worked for various clients including Sony, LG, Phllips, Panasonic, and Pimms. Additionally, he has exhibited in shows across the UK. On the question of why he makes art, Antony states: “I have always had a fascination for the iconic object. Something that has the power to evoke an emotion, a memory, a visual time stamp, things that compel us to covet them.” We’ve been working with Antony since 2016.
