Vicky Tyler Steane is a children book illustrator and cartographer working on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, London. Working as part of the Eel Pie Island art collective she creates murals, maps and visual stories.
A nomination for a comic book award inspired her to continue writing and illustrating. Since then she has produced five books. Three of which are part of a series called Little Robot Stories. These books are now distributed worldwide.
Her keen eye for detail and precision stems from her training as a framer for The Tate, Getty Images and the National Portrait Gallery. Her newest piece, titled 'The London Travel Card Map' took four years to produce, comprising of over 5000 travel cards making a to scale map of London.
