Roy's People

Roy’s People, also known as Roy Tyson, is an urban artist who photographs his charismatic miniature figures on the streets of London or in unconventional situations, and recreates miniature snapshots of everyday life and the art world. Roy handcrafts each figure by hand, with each miniature completely unique and with its own story to tell.

We love how Roy’s witty creations remind us that there is a whole new world beneath our feet if we remember to look, and there’s joy to be found in any mundane situation. The artist celebrates the little things in life, and says of his work: “I use everyday props and taxidermy to create a humorous scene designed to be fun and intriguing. All of the miniature figures are hand painted to give them personality and charm”.

After working in a variety of jobs - from mechanic to sales representative - Roy decided to focus on his hobby and became a full time artist. Since participating in his first exhibition Art of Curiosity at the Curious Duke Gallery in 2013, his career has gone from strength to strength. Roy has since worked on commissions for brands such as Apple, Ted Baker, Sea World, Zizzi and the Royal Mint. In 2014, Roy participated in a project with Big Issue where the artist hid 30 of his miniature figures around Covent Garden.

We’ve been working with Roy’s People since 2016.
