Rosie Emerson

Rosie lives and works in Worthing, UK, and is a printmaker. We love the way she primarily represents the female form while adding unusual materials such as charcoal powder or ash to create texture on her screenprints. Rosie has been commissioned by various brands, including Sony, Triumph Underwear, Redbull, P&O Cruises, Toms, and Annoushka jewellery. She was the artist in residence at Somerset House and once held the Guinness World record for creating the largest cyanotype photograph.

We love that Rosie's artworks hold a vintage quality, as if they are lost relics from the past. Her whimsical art often depicts elegant women or intriguing landscapes in sepia tones that are reminiscent of old photographs. We particularly love how Rosie uses unfamiliar objects like netting for dresses and butterflies for hair to create unique compositions that leave you wondering what stories these women have to tell us.

Photography has continuously been redefined by new technologies and formats, proving itself to be a timeless artform. From colour photography to digital darkrooms, it is an ever changing medium that has the ability to add character to any home. At Art Republic, we have a flourishing community of photography artists that use their art to transport us to all corners of the globe, inviting us to see the world through their lens. We are committed to connecting artists with art lovers who appreciate the stories they tell, so if you’re looking for the perfect fit for your home, our photography artworks are the place to start.
