Contemporary artist Olly Howe is known for his digital collage aesthetic, blending elements of the past with contemporary photographic processes and flourishes of tactile, hand painted and drawn elements. Its an aesthetic that celebrates modernity, calling our attention to the beauty of the contemporary, but with an eye for the surreal and the fantastical, which results in a delicious, dream-like atmosphere.Read More >
His original works and limited edition prints often centre around images of the female form, challenging preconceived perceptions though his collage process while always revelling in the cult of beautiful. Self taught, Howe’s practice was borne out of his discovery of digital image manipulation in the noughties, but follows an organic journey of continual evolution. Quoting the infamous Pablo Picasso, Howe admits that, “I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else.”
After nearly ten years living in East London - the UK’s capital for urban art - and working with top illustration agencies, his shift towards artistry coincided with his relocation to the beautiful Cornish coast, where he lives and works today.
