Oli Fowler is a contemporary British artist, who specialises in screen printing and graphic design. In 2000, Fowler studied fashion and textiles at Central Saint Martins and, more recently, completed a BA in Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Arts. Not limited to a single process, Fowler incorporates graphics, illustration, photography and photomontage into his work, combining these different mediums with an experimental approach. With a playful passion for the aleatory in visual art, chance and mistake feature in the finished aesthetic, creating a spontaneous and organic character.
Fowler’s work fuses the figurative and the abstract, exploiting innovative compositional technique, sharp, defined shapes, and a pure CMYK palette, for a bold and arresting visual quality which is attuned to all things nostalgic. Fowler works freelance, with commissions for printmaking and original artwork, as well as running screen printing classes and tutoring at the Print Club London. He has had solo shows in London at the Shaws Booksellers and The Crown, and was featured in the recent group exhibition The Time with the collective Up and Coming Art, which was held at The Mushroom Works, Newcastle.
