The fame of his surviving art prints has meant that he has been regarded primarily as an artist, but also as a brilliant mind. Leonardo Da Vinci wrote about, and drew upon subjects including; geology, anatomy, flight, gravity and optics. He is the one who 'invented' the bicycle, airplane, helicopter, and parachute, some 500 years ahead of their time. His science was expressed through his art, making him an 'artist-engineer'.
