'Welcome To My World' is a seven layer hand pulled silk screen print by Eddy Bennett. Made with letterpress debossing details from a magnesium plate. Each one hand finished with pastel pink dyed silver leaf.

Signed, numbered and packaged in a bespoke tube, this is from a limited edition size of 50. "Inspired by the early 20th century lithographs and packaging labels, I wanted to achieve a detailed, quality print that resembled the craftsmanship of Victorian ephemera.

The debossing details add a subtle touch of luxury, giving a nod to old cigar labels, only at a larger scale of 750mm rather than 75mm." This is not a digital print. Each one has been made by hand and will therefore vary ever so slightly.

About The Artist - Eddy Bennett

Establishing his style shortly after his Illustration degree in London, Eddy Bennett is now an internationally acclaimed artist that has produced work and commissions from all over the world. The work he produces bridges between the traditional craft of sign painting, gilding and the vibrant, arresting aesthetic of the Pop movement.

A self-taught artist, Eddy has mastered the technical ability to create each piece completely by hand producing works of precision both in conceptual deliberation and painstaking execution. His original works are painted by hand in reverse onto the glass itself, layer by layer the enamel paint he works with is applied completely freehand, eventually revealing technical typographic works that consist of other natural materials such as Mother of Pearl, and 23 carat gold leaf.

The gold leaf is applied to the glass using the Victorian method of water gilding and oil gilding. Eddy makes a gelatin solution that is then used to stretch the real gold into a mirror like state. Not only does he use expensive natural materials to create his pieces, but each artwork is part of a process that takes weeks to complete.
