Jamie Reid

British artist Jamie Reid is probably best known for his work with ‘the Sex Pistols’, including the Cecil Beaton Silver Jubilee portrait of the Queen with a safety pin through her nose. Born in 1947, Jamie Reid comes from a very politically active family. Keen to highlight political leanings like nuclear weapons, racism and the criminal justice system, Jamie Reid has produced a series of powerful contemporary political art prints.

Collected by celebrities including; Vivienne Westwood, Madonna and Angelina Jolie. He has also collaborated with artists like the world music group ‘Afro Celt Sound System’ but it was during his time with the punk rock band ‘The Sex Pistols’ that Reid produced his most scandalous and famous works.
