Georgia Totto O'Keeffe (1887 –1986) was an American artist, and possibly one of the most significant and intriguing artists of the twentieth century. She is best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers and New Mexico landscapes that contribute to make her recognised as the ‘Mother of American modernism’.
Producing a substantial body of art prints over seven decades, she sought to capture the emotion and power of objects through abstracting the natural world - “When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else.” More than 500 examples of her works are in over 100 public collections in Asia, Europe, and North and Central America.
