Fran Giffard: Buy Artworks & Fine Art Prints

Contemporary British artist Fran Giffard is known for her beautiful bird illustrations and art prints. Inspired by the intricacy and detail of natural history drawings, Giffard has amassed an impressive portfolio of ornithological artworks, which begun as illustrations in gouache, aquarelle, and graphite pencil in her Moleskin diaries. Giffard’s work brilliantly captures the exoticism of the birds, while translating the natural beauty into striking, graphic icons, each with a unique and personal touch.

Graduating in 2010 from Camberwell College of Art, where she studied Fine Art Drawing, Giffard has since exhibited across the UK and internationally. Notable solo exhibitions include: A Parliament of Drawings, Northcote Gallery Chelsea, 2013; Foyles Book Shop, Charing Cross, 2012; O for Ornithology, Mayfair, 2012; Aviary, Northcote Gallery Battersea, 2012. She was shortlisted for The Threadneedle Art Prize, BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year, and David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year, as well as winning a place to exhibit with the Society for Wildlife Artists in 2013. In 2014, Gifford travelled to Bermuda where she continued to draw and paint birds over diary leafs, to document her time on the island.
