Euan Roberts is a Hastings-based artist whose work aims to capture the unremarkable. His simplistic works transform the mundane into works of art that carry a hopeful and optimistic message.
Euan creates often nonsensical works that are simultaneously humorous and profound, sparking joy in the viewer. Euan says of his work: “I want my pictures to be visual mantras for the viewer. Lifting them up, dusting them down and telling them to keep going.” We love how the simplicity of his work allows the pure delight of painting to shine through. Euan finds most pleasure in encouraging people to pick up a paint brush and start creating themselves.
Euan has participated in a variety of successful exhibitions. His first group show Launch was held by OTHER Syndicate in 2015, and since then he has gone from strength to strength. He was asked by Shangri-la to take part in their 10 year anniversary celebrations at Glastonbury, and has held two solo shows at Waluso Gallery. Euan also makes his own clothing, screen printing his designs onto t-shirts and hoodies. Recently, he has opened his own gallery dedicated to promoting diverse and emerging talent.
