Based in Southeast London, Charles Edgar is an artist whose work refrains from focusing on one specific style, instead he creates bold coloured prints that combine comical statements, popular culture and aesthetics. Edgar creates mixes of editions that ironically and comically comment on cultural and social affairs.

Edgar’s first piece ‘IMADEYOUANAUTHENTICPRINTBECAUSEILIVEINHACKNEY’ sparked a move from stencilling and has developed into a comprehensive collection of screen prints that has found its way into galleries around London. With no formal art education, Edgar started printing in a studio in Hackney and now prints out of his home studio in Croydon. We love how Edgar's thoroughly contemporary prints transform familiar symbols and tropes. His original and innovative interpretation of the world around him contributes to witty, humorous, yet stylish artworks.
