My infatuation comes by the shape that my chosen building or vista makes as it cuts its way into the sky - the negative space draws me in as much as the building itself.

Framed My Beautiful London depicts the iconic capital, looking east along the Thames. Under a copper sky, the city's glass tower blocks rise up around old St Pauls, Blackfriars Bridge spans the river towards the 'Vase' building, and summer foliage lines the northern bank of the Thames, where ferries and cruises amble through the city. Beautifully hand-drawn in Lilley's signature monochrome style, finished with scribbles of bright colour, and set into a long, letterbox frame, Framed My Beautiful London is a delightful tribute to Britain's Big Smoke.

The black frames are 3cm deep and almost 4cm wide, all work is float mounted on 5mm foam core with approximately a 3cm border from artwork to the inside edge of frame.

Jayson Lilley takes the ordinary aspects of urban life and makes them extraordinary. Lilley grew up in a seaside village in Devon, and countryside influences can be detected in his artworks, as he highlights and exaggerates the scale of expanses of natural space with gold leaf. Lilley’s reproductions of iconic structures, landmarks, and buildings are placed on wide open skies that are created with gold, copper, or platinum leaf. Lilley's pieces begin with the artist taking hundreds of photographs of the city, which are then meticulously patched together. Before turning his hand to printmaking, Lilley spent fifteen years as a book cover designer in London, where his creations achieved an award-winning reputation within the realm of graphic design and advertising. It is clear to see how his professional experience informs his art, from the illustrative approach to the bold colours and limited palette. Lilley’s artwork is now held in collections across the world, from New York to Japan, Hong Kong to Moscow. Jayson has been shortlisted for the Westmorland Landscape Prize and has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition.
We love Jayson’s innovative triaging of silkscreen, painting and collage to create electric compositions that are filled with colour. When prompted about how his love for art came to be, Jayson responded: “I was always making things as a child... not being too academic, I found drawing, painting and creating a lot more fun than reading and writing.” Jayson seeks comfort within his artform, and that seeps through to the viewer; Jayson succeeds in creating landscapes that are full of warmth and familiarity.

How long will it take for my artwork to arrive?
We aim to dispatch unframed artwork within 7 working days of receiving your order. Postage within the UK takes around 1-3 working days. Custom framed items are usually dispatched within 21 working days of receiving your order. For more information, see our delivery page.
What is your returns policy?
Once you receive your artwork, you have 14 days to return it and get a full refund if you're not happy. If you would like to return an artwork, please contact us first at support@artrepublic.com. It is your responsibility to cover the return postage. Our returns' policy excludes items that are hand-made to order, such as artwork that has been framed, purchased as part of a timed release, or commissioned. These can only be returned if they are faulty.
How much does delivery cost?
UK delivery is free on orders over £100. Framed artworks cost £15 and we can only ship these within the UK. We also offer pick up from our studio. Worldwide delivery is dependent on location. For more information on delivery costs, head to our delivery page.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro. We also accept payment via PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay and Klarna. We also offer financing through Own Art. Payment will be taken as soon as your order has been placed.
Can I get my artwork framed?
Yes! We work with a network of expert framers, and you can add a selection of frames to an artwork on the artwork page. Please see our framing page for more details, as well as information on additional styles that we can offer.
