Alphonse Maria Mucha was a Czech painter and decorative artist remembered for the prominent role he played in shaping the aesthetics of French Art Nouveau at the turn of the century. Alphonse Maria Mucha produced a flurry of paintings, posters, advertisements, and book illustrations, as well as designs for jewellery, carpets, wallpaper, and theatre sets but he was most well-known for his art prints of women painted in pale pastel colours.
