We're Hiring - Join the Art Republic Team as our Cataloguer

We're looking for a dedicated Cataloguer to join our growing and enthusiastic team. Art Republic has been battling bland interiors since 1999 when we first started selling limited edition prints from a small shop in Sussex. Today, art lovers from all corners of the globe can explore our extensive collection of affordable and original art online. As our new cataloguer, you will be integral to creating and maintaining engaging and creative artwork listings, amongst a variety of other tasks.

The Cataloguer will undertake important cataloguing and tagging to drive discovery, as well as merchandising, and collection creation work, as outlined, but not limited to, the below. The Cataloguer will be a key hire for the Sales team, and will report to the Head of Sales, and work closely with the marketing, sales, e-commerce and operations team members. This role has a primary focus on artwork listing management while also undertaking key merchandising interventions to ensure that every artwork can tell its story.

Cataloguing (60%)

  • Artwork uploading, tagging, and frame recommendations, making sure that every listing is accurate and exciting, tagging every artwork as appropriate to ensure customer discovery

  • Reviewing and signing off artwork listing pages once uploaded

  • Image formatting and resizing to ensure all imagery on artwork pages is best in class, supporting Studio Assistant with in-house photography as needed

  • Making product adjustments as requested by other members of the team, in order to ensure the highest quality and accuracy

  • Be actively involved in the artist onboarding process, uploading their products, creating their artist collection pages

  • Continuously update and develop artwork pages to promote best in class customer experience

  • Artwork uploading, listing maintenance and collection management on third party platforms


Merchandising & collection management (20%)

  • Create and continuously update themed, inspiration, and interest-driven curated collections of artworks to aid customer discovery and engagement, using sales, marketing & ecommerce data to drive decision making

  • Management of recommendation blocks on applicable pages, A/B testing different recommendation variables and performance measurement

  • Explore with Ecommerce Manager alternative options to recommendation tools

  • Creation of edits and collections for the newsletter and paid marketing campaigns


Homepage & landing page management (20%)

  • Support artwork lifecycle management so the website best reflects which artworks are available to browse and buy

  • Undertaking key merchandising interventions as indicated by stock performance

  • Responsible for twice-weekly updates to the homepage

  • Category merchandising of navigable collections and marketing landing pages to ensure the right mix of catalogue penetration, price variance, and relevance

  • As part of the onboarding process, adding artists to relevant pages on the website, thereafter, updating as required by Artist Liaison



Location: Art Republic’s studio, NW2 7HJ. Option for some days working from home/remotely.
