VeeBee on her 'Balloon Dog 6' Timed Release
AR: What was the inspiration behind your new release?
If you have ever tried to walk a big dog that gets overly excited by anything that moves in the park, you’d know the inspiration behind this one!
AR: Do you see this work as a continuation of previous work or a series, or a new departure in your practice?
It is definitely a continuation of a particular series of my work.
AR: What does a typical day look like for you?
Working on new paintings or commissions, some boring admin work, learning something new, playing with my cats!
AR: Tell us an artist that inspires you
Yayoi Kusama
AR: When did you know you wanted to pursue a life in art?
I started painting at a very young age. It was always very clear to me that I didn’t enjoy doing anything as much as I enjoyed making art.
AR: What did it feel like when you sold your first artwork?
It felt like I had won the lottery!
AR: What’s your favourite creative work?
The infinity rooms by Yayoi Kusama.
AR: What’s next? Your next project, hobby, goal in your career.
I usually have several new projects going on. At the moment I am educating myself about cryptocurrencies and NFTs. I am also learning how to work with metals and taking pottery classes. And I am working on a new collection of oversized glass paintings.
