AR: What are your favourite Nike Air Max?
1992, Nike Air Max ST and the Sacai x Nike VaporWaffle 'Black White'.
AR: What were your first Nike Air Max?
I'm wearing some Ironstone/olive grey style Air Max 95s at the moment they are nice and warm for the winter. But my first pair of Nike Air sneakers were ones my parents bought for me from a factory outlet store when on holiday in USA. I picked some Flights in monotone and an amazing bright red/pink.
AR: Can you tell us about the artwork you have created for Art Republic?
My artwork is all about bright colours and I've gone for a fun multi-colour palette for these.
AR: What are your favourite Nike Air Max?
Nike air max 1 and Nike air max 90s.
AR: What modern styles do you relate to?
I Like a lot of the ACG silhouettes because I do a lot of walking, I got time for Huarache and Safari too. I tend to favour the old-school original colourways over the new releases.
AR: Can we expect more sneaker-related work from you?
Yes, this is the first of a new series of works on shoe boxes. I buy a lot of trainers so I have a lot of empty canvases waiting for new works.
AR: Can you tell us about the artwork you have created for Art Republic?
This new print expresses and links my love of painting with my love of sneakers and sneaker culture perfectly, as well as pay tribute to the solid block colouring I adore from pop art.
AR: What do Air Max’s mean to you?
Air Max's have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. They are not only iconic but extremely comfortable which is important to me because I'm a walker.
AR: Can you tell us a bit about the artwork you have created for Art Republic?
'Voyage' is a representation of the miles I do each week around my city. I put on my trainers, leave the house early, almost as a ritual. The walk has become a meditation, a way to unscramble thoughts and generate ideas. There is no destination, just a loop or circle, coming back to the beginning, back home.
