The Poptorian Artist RYCA Launches His Latest Rave Inspired Sculptures.
Hit UK rave pioneers The Prodigy have teamed up with artrepublic favourite Ryan Callanan AKA RYCA on a fabulous new set of art figures.
Callanan has re-cast all three members of the electronic group in miniature figurine form, capturing incredible detail and accurate likenesses of the big-beat stalwarts.
The 250 hand sculpted sets of chrome-plated 3.75” scale art figures feature backdrop artwork from the band’s live shows. They have individually been silkscreened and hand printed, resulting in a stunning piece of highly collectable art. Every box is individually numbered and hand signed by Liam, Keith, Maxim and RYCA.
In addition to these there are 10 sets gilded in 23.5ct gold leaf, not available for purchase anywhere, but sent out at random to ten buyers of the original 250 sets of art figures sold.
Ryan has previously teamed up with another legendary UK music icon in Fatboy Slim. The prolific artist has created bespoke artwork for the DJ, collaborating on his recent snow dog ‘Boomer’, which sold at auction for £20,000 and an acid smiley World Cup replica released back in 2014.
RYCA is also famed for his series of hip hop legends including figures of Biggie Smalls, Tupac and Eazy-E which led him to approach the band to make his ‘Rave Heroes’ collection.
On teaming up with Prodigy RYCA said “The Prodigy have been the soundtrack in my life since I was playing with action figures, I'm now immortalising my rave heroes as art toys...”.
The Prodigy X RYCA Ltd Edition Chrome Art Figures are now available from artrepublic. Get your hands on a set before they all sell out!
